Guinness Mural for The Dorset, Brighton
Lovely Day for a Guinness!
What could be more iconic than a Guinness pint on a sunny Brighton day? Now, thanks to a stunning new mural, thirsty patrons at "The Dorset" pub can toast that feeling alongside a vibrant pair of feathered friends.
It was a fantastic experience to have the opportunity to create a captivating mural for the renowned British multinational alcoholic beverage company Diageo, representing their iconic Guinness brand. This stunning piece of artwork now graces the exterior of "The Dorset" Pub, adding a touch of vibrancy to North Road in Brighton.
The Dorset, steeped in history as one of Brighton's oldest pubs, recently underwent a makeover, teaming up with Guinness to offer a unique experience – their very own pint-printing machine! As part of this exciting revamp, they commissioned me to create a mural that would breathe life into the pub's back wall.
A toast to unity and shared experiences: The vibrant mural features Guinness's iconic toucan enjoying a pint alongside a cheeky Brighton seagull, both set against a vintage poster-style seaside backdrop. The design seamlessly integrates the Guinness harp and The Dorset logo, creating a harmonious blend of brand elements. To complete the picture, the classic phrases "Lovely day for a Guinness" and "birds of a feather drink together" adorn the mural, celebrating the brand's rich heritage and the inclusive spirit of shared experiences. This resonates deeply with both locals and visitors, fostering a sense of community and belonging.
The design concept originated from Diageo's Jason Brennan, who envisioned "the Guinness toucan enjoying a pint with our very own Brighton seagull. We all know the saying 'birds of a feather flock together,' but our take is 'birds of a feather drink together.' Meaning, regardless of your background, you can always enjoy a cold Guinness in good company, no matter where you're headed."
More than just a mural, it's a conversation starter. The Guinness mural in Brighton is more than just a piece of art. It's a reminder that despite our differences, we can always find common ground and raise a glass to friendship and good times. So next time you're in Brighton, be sure to stop by The Dorset, grab a pint under the mural, and let the conversation flow!
