Paint and Beer 2024
PAINT & BEER 2024, Amsterdam's longest running street art festival came BACK bigger than ever in 2024 thanks to support from the STRAAT Museum in Amsterdam.
I helped bring together the “PAINT” for the event alongside my partner SNUB23 and Chinny Bond (The London Police), artists local and international to participate in painting live while sipping on the most delicious beers in the Netherlands. Over 40 artists took part including SNUB23, Nils, NOL, Fanakapan, Staylo, and the Gums and Tongues crew.
The “BEER” is supplied by our good friend Sid at Freikens Brewery, which has been brewing speciality beers on a small scale for years, initially at ADM and later in the squatted industrial complex Villa Friekens in Amsterdam Noord. Friekens gained notoriety in (sub-)cultural circles.
All at the unique place of ADM Noord, a Social and cultural zone, located on the site of the former sewage treatment plant Amsterdam North and the adjacent Sludge Fields.
I used this fabulous opportunity to paint my “Hissy Fit” punk kitty as it lined up perfectly alongside my buddy Staylo. Soon after we finished our punk inspired piece a stage was installed next to it and some epic Ska and punk bands including, Inner terrestrials (Ska, punk, dub Legends, from London), Skatonomen (The infamous skanky explosion re-unites Amsterdam), Pesticide (Belgian Metal/Crust Band) and DJ pingung played alongside our wall which helped set the scene.
After all the fun at ADM Noord had finished me and the crew went to visit the famous Straat Museum in the north of Amsterdam. I kept on my punk theme and painted a Punk Girl.
